Wayne Boggs, Air Boss

In January 2004, Wayne G. Boggs retired from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with 40 years experience in the air traffic control profession.  Additionally, Wayne served in the United States Marine Corps for 10 years.

Wayne's love of aviation began at a young age.  Wayne's Mother served as a Women's Auxiliary Service Pilot (WASP) during World War II. His Mothers profession had a profound effect on his devotion to aviation.  Wayne restored and currently flies the same type of plane, a 1942 Fairchild PT-19, his Mother used to instruct other pilots at Embry Riddle.

Wayne worked as an air traffic controller at Chicago O'Hare Terminal Radar Approach Control (C90), taught at the FAA Academy (FAAAC), and served as the Chief of Staff for the Air Traffic Systems Requirements Directorate in Washington, DC.

In 1996, Wayne and a team of controllers were was responsible for providing air security for the Summer Olympics in Atlanta , GA. Wayne served for many years as the Air Traffic Manager (ATM) for the annual Lakeland Sun' n Fun Fly-In and as the Manager for Temporary Towers and Special Events for the Southeast United States.

Wayne has successfully performed air boss duties for over 20 years.

 
 

The Great Minnesota Air Show was held at the St. Cloud Regional Airport June 26th and 27th.  The show featured the United States Navy's Blue Angels and a full schedule of top aerial acts from across North America.
